The Masterclass
The Program
This summer, Cévennes Lyriques will welcome professional and pre-professional singers to a two week masterclass to study with some of the greatest singers and vocal pedagogues of our time.
The masterclass will start on Sunday August 4 at 9:30 a.m. and end on August 10 after the final concert. For full boarders: arrival on Saturday 3 and departure on Sunday 11 August.
Students will receive a total of 7 private lessons, and 3 coachings, as well as a comprehensive schedule of classes: diction, language lessons, and ensemble sessions. There will also be several performance opportunities in some of the beautiful venues in the area.
Our voice faculty this year will include internationally renowned singers and voice teachers Kevin Short, Norah Amsellem and Brigitte Clair. Our Artistic Director is the esteemed Franco-American Conductor Julien Benichou, Artistic Director of the Washington Opera Society.
Location
The masterclass takes place in St. Hippolyte du Fort, a quaint town at the foot of the magnificent Cévennes mountains. Participants will be housed in the beautiful and historic 19th century CROP building. Surrounded by a large park, it is a unique oasis in the midst of the village. The Mediterranean Sea is only an hour’s drive away.
Students will have access to an air-conditioned auditorium, (vital information for the south of France in summer time!) and several classrooms for coaching, diction, and piano accompaniment sessions.
Meals
Board is included in the price. Meals will be provided by French cooks who will prepare specialties using local ingredients. The menu will be varied, but you can expect many delicious Mediterranean flavors!

Tuition
The price is set in euros, and includes the week of the masterclass, and two concerts
⚪️ Full board: €1100 (masterclass, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and housing)
⚪️ Half board: €900 (masterclass, one meal, no housing)
⚪️ “Off-campus”: €800 (only the masterclass, no meals or housing)
